Glasgow East Juniors Rugby Club at Mount Vernon Primary

At Glasgow East Juniors Rugby Club, we are delighted to continue our partnership with Mount Vernon Primary School, bringing rugby to pupils through a programme of fun, inclusive, and engaging coaching sessions throughout the school year. Our aim is to introduce children to the game while helping them develop confidence, teamwork, communication skills, and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

Introducing Rugby to Young Players

This year, our coaches will deliver rugby taster sessions for Primary 1 to Primary 3 pupils, giving children their first opportunity to experience the sport in a safe and supportive environment. Through fun games and skill-based activities, pupils will learn the fundamentals of rugby while building confidence and making new friends.

Creating Opportunities for All

As the partnership develops, Glasgow East Juniors coaches will also support intervention groups for younger pupils and deliver a dedicated P5-P6 Girls Rugby After School Club. These sessions are designed to encourage participation, develop skills, and provide a pathway for children who wish to become more involved in rugby within their local community.

Connecting with Families and the Community

Our coaches look forward to attending parents' evenings and working closely with school staff and families. These opportunities help strengthen the connection between the club, the school, and the wider community, ensuring that every child has access to positive sporting experiences and opportunities beyond the classroom.

Celebrating Success Together

Glasgow East Juniors is proud to support key school events throughout the year, including Sports Day and the End of Year Awards Assembly. We love celebrating the achievements of young people and recognising the effort, commitment, and enthusiasm shown by pupils during their rugby journey.

We would like to thank the staff, pupils, and families at Mount Vernon Primary for their continued support. We are excited for another fantastic year of rugby and look forward to seeing more young players enjoying the game and becoming part of the Glasgow East Juniors rugby family.
