Micro
P1 to P3
Coach Jim
For our youngest players, these non-contact sessions focus on letting the children have fun and learn about teamwork and the basics of rugby.
A mixture of ball handling, mini drills and playground games, it introduces our youngsters to rugby's core skills, but most importantly gets them moving and enjoying themselves.
Mini / Midi
P4 to P6
Coach Brendan
For our older primary school children, we continue the skills training started in Micros, developing pass technique and the basics of tackling.

Our coaches use tackle bags to safely introduce this element, while teaching the players how to tackle opponents in their first contact training. Mini games and drills keep the players moving too.
Youth
P7, S1 & S2
Coach Malky
S1 and S2 secondary school age players move up to youth training, and work towards developing their overall game.

At this stage the players can work on scrum and lineout skills, as well as continuing to develop tackling and kicking technique under the guidance of the coaches.
All of our coaches carry PVG certification and the club ensures that they progress through the various stages of coach education facilitated by the SRU, as well as our own coach development programme operated within the club.
